Thanks to everyone's help and supporting during Swirl & Twirl - importantly, our Board members Cameron and Barb, RBC, and the Swirl & Twirl planning committee (with Glenn Crawford as Chair) - Lambda has received a whopping $2,870 in funds raised!

Wow! That's a huge amount! And it will help us with all the awards we have helped establish, including new ones at the Université de Montréal and our new STEM Award at the University of Alberta!

Congratulations to Dr. Shayne Reitmeier for winning the Les McAfee Memorial Award for 2016-2017 !!

Shayne graduated from medical school in May of 2017 and is presently enrolled in the Post-Graduate Medical Education Program at the University of Manitoba, in the Rural Family Medicine Stream. The research project for which he received this award was not a part of his formal studies, but instead developed after a variety of concerns were raised to me by members of the LGBTQ+ Mentorship Group (which he co-founded and co-leads).
