#GivingTuesday

This is just a brief note to thank the generous people who have already donated to the Lambda Foundation’s 2015 campaign and a request to the rest of you:  please include Lambda Foundation when you make your (tax-receipted) charitable donations on Giving Tuesday or for the Dec. 31 deadline.  Our priorities this year are donations to Lambda Foundation’s “general” and “where most needed” funds, an effective way to help us maintain the research awards we have and create new ones. Graduate and undergraduate students doing LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex) studies at nine universities across Canada really need your encouragement and support, no matter where they are studying.  There are three convenient ways to donate:

  1. Online through CanadaHelps at www.canadahelps.org. Type in Lambda Foundation and a link will take you to our Lambda (Ottawa) page. There, a drop down menu will allow you to scroll to our “general” and  “where most needed” designations, as well as to our other awards funds: Nicole LaViolette Friends of Lambda Prix at the University of Ottawa, the Grant Halle Lambda Award at Laurentian University, the Christian Landry Memorial Award at University of New Brunswick, the Lambda Bursary at the University of Montreal, the Gary Sealey Friends of Lambda Award at Carleton University, the Lambda Award at Guelph University, the Les McAfee Lambda Memorial Award at the University of Manitoba, and the Candis Graham Writing Scholarship at the University of Victoria. We also present a Dr. Gary Gibson Lambda Award at UBC-St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation every second year.  You will receive an automatic tax receipt.
  2. Send a cheque made out to Lambda Foundation to Lambda Foundation, PO Box 1090, Station B, Ottawa, ON, K1P 5R1. Please include your return address so we can send you a tax receipt.
  3. Lambda Foundation can also be designated as a preferred charity through the United Wayhttps://www.unitedwayottawa.ca/donate/

Right now, we are redesigning and updating our web site so you can see the exciting projects that Lambda helps fund. It will be up soon at   www.lambdafoundation.com  or contact me directly at info@lambdafoundation.com if you have any questions.

Thanks very much.
