2025 Bourses Fondation Lambda pour l’excellence Awarded at Université de Montréal
Congratulations to this year’s recipient of the Bourses Fondation Lambda pour l’excellence at the Université de Montréal.
The University of Montreal master’s student expressed profound gratitude in a letter after receiving the Lambda Foundation Scholarship for Excellence. They shared how this support is invaluable, as it allows them to fully dedicate themselves to their studies while strengthening their academic record.
They are especially grateful to have received a scholarship that recognizes contributions to advancing knowledge related to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community—a cause of which they are extremely proud. The Award Recipient emphasized how closely Lambda Foundation’s mission aligns with their values and thanked the Foundation for encouraging students who prioritize the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in their projects.
Reflecting on their academic journey, they noted that there remains a shortage of scientific literature on issues affecting the community. This scholarship further motivates them to continue conducting and disseminating research on sexual and gender minorities. They also expressed a commitment to developing future projects that raise awareness within both the scientific community and the broader public about the issues faced by the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
The Recipient thanked Lambda Foundation again for its support, which enables students like them to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in this vital field.
This scholarship was created to support the Université de Montréal in carrying out its mission of teaching and research. The awarding of this annual scholarship encourages excellence in research on LGBTQ+ communities. The scholarship is reserved for full-time master’s and doctoral students at the Université de Montréal, regardless of their field of study or research, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or linguistic, religious, or cultural background. Their thesis, dissertation, or research report must focus on LGBTQ+ people, particularly on their communities, values, achievements, arts, and sports, as well as on policy or human rights issues that affect them.
Together, we can build a future where 2SLGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC individuals thrive through education, research, and meaningful opportunities.
