Alex Alevras Madimenos – 2025/2026 Lambda Scholarship Tuition Award Recipient, Concordia University
Alex Alevras Madimenos is a second-year Finance Co-op student at Concordia University.
A student who brings both financial acumen and a clear sense of purpose to their studies, Alex (they/them) embodies the spirit of the Lambda Scholarship Tuition Award — active in their community, committed to inclusion, and already working to make their chosen field more welcoming for those who come after them.
A Leader at Queer Concordia
Alex currently serves as Financial Coordinator of Queer Concordia, the university’s queer student organization. In that role, they help support students through access to health resources and services, and contributes to community events that enrich campus life for queer students. It was through Queer Concordia that Alex first learned about the Lambda award, a fitting path to recognition for someone already giving back to the community around them.
Finance With a Purpose
Alex’s academic interests go beyond the balance sheet. They are drawn to exploring the relationship between the corporate finance world and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, a space where, as they note, queer representation remains limited. Their goal is to help make finance a more inclusive field for the next generation of talented students who deserve to see themselves reflected in it.
Gratitude for Support
For Alex, this award is both practical support and meaningful recognition.
“I wanted to thank you for this meaningful award and wanted to recognize this foundation’s work in how much they truly care about and support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Thank you for all your hard work!” — Alex Alevras Madimenos
