Katie Greenley, Volunteer

Katie Greenley (they/them) is a post-secondary student at the University of Guelph. They are completing a double major in English and Sexualities, Genders, & Social Change. Professionally, Katie works as a part-time social media manager for a small business in their hometown. They look forward to bringing the skills they have developed in this role to their volunteer work with Lambda Foundation’s Marketing and Communications Committee.

Katie brings plenty of other volunteer experience to the table, especially in terms of 2SLGBTQIA+ community involvement. They co-founded the student society for their university program, the Sexualities, Genders, and Social Change Student Society. They took part in the Queer Print Project in partnership with Art Not Shame. The design they created for the project was featured at the Art Gallery of Guelph’s “Body Language” exhibition alongside works from the ArQuives, the largest 2SLGBTQIA+ archive in the world. Today, they continue their volunteer work as a peer mentor at their local library’s Teen Advisory Group (TAG), and of course, with Lambda! As a past recipient of one of the Lambda Foundation’s awards, Katie personally understands the importance of the Foundation’s mission, and is honoured to be able to get more involved with this organization.
