Help Support Lambda Foundation’s McMaster University Award For QTBIPOC Students

The Lambda Scholarship Foundation Canada is a registered charity dedicated to creating and supporting graduate and undergraduate scholarships that advance research in 2SLGBTQ+ and queer and trans BIPOC studies. We also offer a high school human rights award in British Columbia.

In alignment with our 2020 commitment to address systemic racism in Canada, we established two new awards in 2023 specifically designed to combat systemic oppression and discrimination among marginalized youth.

The award at McMaster University is Lambda’s first award aimed specifically at queer and trans students who are Black, racialized, or Indigenous, in their first year of study in any program.

This award commits $3,000 over three years, with $1,000 awarded each year to a different recipient. This year, the first beneficiary of the award was Suman Mondal.

However, this award is a non-endowed fund, meaning we only have two more $1,000 awards left before the fund is depleted.

Here’s How You Can Make a Difference

Your donation today can significantly reduce the financial burden on university students. As Suman Mondal, our first award recipient, expressed:

“I truly appreciate an organization that is ensuring the well-being and success of (QT)BIPOC folks, especially those who are emerging scholars.”

We invite you to donate and help us meet this year’s fundraising goal of $1,000 to support the Lambda Foundation’s McMaster University Award for QTBIPOC Students.

You can make your donation via CanadaHelps. If you are interested in making a larger contribution or creating an endowment fund, please email the Development Manager in confidence.

Thank you for helping us build and sustain a legacy for 2SLGBTQ+ students.
