Lindsey Thomson: 2025 Lambda Foundation Scholarship in 2SLGBTQIA+ Studies Recipient
Congratulations, Lindsey!
Lindsey Thomson is a PhD Candidate in the Social Practice and Transformational Change program at the University of Guelph.
She is a white settler, a bisexual and queer woman who was diagnosed with autism later in life, living with her wife CJ and their Scottish Terrier, Kevin, in what is colonially known as Guelph, Ontario, which is located on the traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit.
Lindsey brings over a decade of experience in critical community-engaged scholarship and knowledge mobilization to her role as Manager of Community Engaged Learning at the University of Guelph. She is also the drummer for Groundcover, a queer folk-rock band that can often be found playing shows during pride month and beyond in Guelph and surrounding townships.
Lindsey’s collaborative doctoral research includes storytelling and zine-making methods and draws on critical autism studies, disability justice, and femme theory and praxis to highlight undervalued knowledges and often erased stories of autistic femmes. Her research aims to contribute to understandings of autistic femininities, femme stories, and lived experience across education, relevant community programming, and queer/feminist activist spaces.
“Thank you, Lambda, for your generosity and for seeing the value of my research!” — Lindsey
